Yass Country Cloggers

Formed in 2003, Yass Country Cloggers is the sister club to Capital Cloggers Canberra.
Clogging is a folk dance that originated in the Appalachian Mountains of the USA. Today it is performed to a wide variety of music styles. The steps are called or cued and no partner is required. Once the basic steps are mastered, shoes with special taps are worn. Otherwise there is no special clothing required.

Classes are held from early February until mid December each year.

Thursday evening 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Dancing levels from Basic to Intermediate

$5.50 per week, pay as you go (adults)
$3.00 per week, pay as you go (students)

Club Leader is Kathy Hedger, phone 0408 866 764. Kathy is actively involved in the Australian Clogging Association Inc (ACA) and has been inducted into the Australian Clogging Hall of Fame. Kathy is an accredited Masters Level Gold (ACIM) leader and also has a professional designation of Certified Clogging Instructor (CCI) from the National Clogging Leaders Organization, Inc. in the USA.

Performing in public

Yass Country Cloggers join with Capital Cloggers to participate in many community events including festivals and fetes in the Canberra region.
